Bongo Ideas has resurfaced, this time directing his criticism towards Ghanaian songstress Sista Afia, following her public expression of dissatisfaction regarding the lack of support she perceives from her fellow musicians.
In her social media post, Sista Afia articulated her grievances, asserting that she consistently assists her peers; however, when she seeks help in promoting her own tracks, they abandon her.
Bongo responded by urging Sista Afia to cease her tendency to blame others and confront the reality of her situation.
He contended that if her songs fail to achieve hit status, it is not due to a lack of support from her colleagues; rather, it is because her music is, quite frankly, “wack.
”
He did not mince words, stating that even collaborations with prominent artists like Shatta Wale would not prevent her tracks from being overlooked by audiences.
Instead of indulging in the blame game, Bongo proposed that Sista Afia concentrate on enhancing her musical quality, as this would better align with what listeners desire.
However, if her efforts prove fruitless, he humorously suggested she might consider a career change, perhaps selling waakye because, even with a feature from Jesus Christ himself, Ghanaians might still choose to overlook her work.
