Mr. Happiness Is No Longer A Citizen Of Ghana

Kofi Gabs—also known as Mr. Happiness—the controversial social commentator who has fulfilled all the requirements to become a full citizen of the Netherlands.

The Ghanaian government, acting through the Interior Ministry, accepted his plea to abandon his previous citizenship.

After moving to the European nation from Ghana, he obtained Dutch citizenship a few months ago.

As a Dutch citizen, Mr. Happiness subsequently received a Dutch passport, which allowed him to enter more than 180 nations without a visa.

For personal reasons, Kofi Gabs abstained from his previous nationality, even though he had the option to continue being a dual citizen of Ghana and the Netherlands.

He thus applied to the Ministry of Interior to renounce his citizenship, presenting his Ghanaian passport along with other documentation.

This indicates that the recently granted Dutch citizenship has severed all connections with his birthplace, expunging his records from the books of the West African nation.

Mr. Happiness celebrated by confirming on social media that he was no longer a citizen of Ghana and that he was pleased to resign his citizenship.

The Dutch national, sporting a Ghana Black Stars shirt, performed songs and dances to praise God for his new adventure in the European nation.

“I’m extremely happy this evening because I received a letter in the morning from Ghana’s Ministry of Interior informing me that I’m no longer a Ghanaian. I’m now a 100 per cent Dutch citizen,” he said.
