Popular content creator Nii Kpakpo Gbemi arrested for visa fraud

Samuel Ocantey, who many know as Nii Kpakpo Gbemi, gained fame for his “Kpakpo Series” cartoon skits.
Recently, he was arrested for allegedly tricking a man out of more than GH¢ 448,000 by promising U.S. visas that he never delivered.
The arrest came after the victim reported to the police that Kpakpo neither provided the visas nor returned the money.
Kpakpo is popular for his comedic skits, which mimic Peter Griffin’s voice, and he is known to associate with well-known Ghanaians, including the Mahama family, footballer André “Dede” Ayew, and actress Jackie Appiah.
However, these connections are now being questioned due to the fraud allegations.
According to Sel The Bomb, Kpakpo convinced the victim he could secure three U.
S. visas for GH?448,000. After taking the money, he did not provide the visas and avoided taking responsibility, claiming he was too busy.
He even falsely claimed to have traveled to Nigeria with former President John Mahama, which was later proven untrue.
This is not Kpakpo’s first accusation of using supposed connections for fraudulent purposes. Investigations found he previously used Dzata Cement, a company owned by Ibrahim Mahama, to scam someone.
As a result, the Mahama family reportedly distanced themselves from him.
Despite this, Kpakpo continued sharing old photos and videos with the Mahamas to maintain a false image of their relationship.
Kpakpo was arrested one Friday night and initially held at Nima Police Station before being transferred to the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) for further questioning.
Beyond the visa scam, Snapchat blogger SelTheBomb reported that Kpakpo has been accused of deceiving young women by claiming he was connected to high-profile people in Ghana.
Several victims have shared their experiences of being misled by his false promises and connections.
Currently, Kpakpo is in custody as investigations continue.
