According to the legendary Ghanaian striker Asamoah Gyan, he was among the world’s top players in 2010.

Gyan, 39, had a successful year with club and nation in 2010, despite placing 18th on the Ballon d’Or list.
Before playing a key part in the four-time African champions’ run to the World Cup quarterfinals, the former captain of the Black Stars guided Ghana to the Africa Cup of Nations final.

Following the 2010 World Cup, Gyan landed a lucrative transfer to Sunderland, where he scored ten goals in his debut season and quickly became a sensation.
