Veteran highlife musician Amandzeba Nat Brew has showered praise on award-winning artiste Stonebwoy following their recent collaboration.
Speaking about the project, Amandzeba revealed that although they did not record together in the studio because Stonebwoy was out of the country, they maintained close communication throughout the process.
“We didn’t go to the studio together because he was outside. He sent me the track,” Amandzeba explained.
The highlife legend disclosed that their conversations extended beyond the music itself, touching on broader issues related to artistic direction and the Ghanaian music industry.
According to him, he shared his concerns about the increasing use of Jamaican patois in Ghanaian music, and Stonebwoy responded respectfully.
“He took it in good faith. He even called me,” Amandzeba said during an interview on Channel One TV.
The veteran musician commended Stonebwoy for his professionalism, humility, and openness to discussion despite their different perspectives.
“He’s such a wonderful musician,” Amandzeba stated.
His comments add to the growing recognition of Stonebwoy’s ability to collaborate across generations and musical styles within Ghana’s music industry.
The veteran artist added that collaborations between older and younger musicians create opportunities for meaningful exchanges rather than unnecessary criticism.
“We work together. We play the music together,” he said.
