They said my songs were trash – Richie Mensah recalls

Ghanaian music executive Richie Mensah has shared a painful early career experience that shaped his journey in the music industry.
Speaking on a podcast, the Lynx Entertainment boss revealed that an international music expert once strongly criticised his work while he was signed to Wonder World record label.
“A music expert listened to my songs and said they were not good enough,” he recalled. “He even said they should drop me from the label.”
He explained that the feedback came after several of his songs were played and rejected one after another, which deeply affected him.
“I went home and cried like a baby,” he said.
Richie said the moment shook his confidence, but a close friend later advised him not to give up.
“Either I stay down or I fight harder,” his friend told him.
According to him, that advice became a turning point in his career and changed how he handled criticism and pressure going forward.
