How Daniel allegedly pressed Joana Deladem’s neck with his knee against until she died
Ghana is in mourning for the unfortunate loss of Joana Deladem Aku, a 21-year-old Level 400 student of Biological Science at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Reports suggest that on Monday, Daniel, the main suspect in the murder, supposedly took Joana’s phone for reasons only he understands.
Joana subsequently informed the authorities about the incident.
The next day, Joana and Daniel headed to their department to study, yet the tension between them was evident.
As they exited the department, two friends accompanied them to the university’s Disability and Rehab Centre.
Following the departure of the friends, Daniel reportedly assaulted Joana by pushing her from behind, bringing her to the ground, stomping on her, and applying his knee to choke her until she lost consciousness.
He subsequently pulled her into some nearby bushes, confiscated her phone and laptop to stage it as a robbery, and escaped the area.
