Dr Omane Boamah’s Last Social Media Post Surfaces After His Demise

The Minister of Defence’s last social media post has emerged following his untimely passing in the helicopter crash
The Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, has sadly passed away following a fatal Ghana Army Z-9 helicopter crash at Adansi Akrofum in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
The tragic incident also claimed the lives of eight people, including Ibrahim Muntala Mohammed and several others.
Deputy National Security Coordinator Limuna Muniru, Former Ashanti Regional Minister Dr. Samuel Sarpong, and Former NDC Parliamentary candidate for Obuasi East, Samuel Aboagye, also died in the helicopter crash.
Following the unfortunate helicopter crash, Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah’s last social media post has emerged.
In a post he shared on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, the late Minister of Defence responded to an online press release about an alleged Ghana Armed Forces recruitment scheme.
Dr Edward Kofi Omane Boamah branded the alleged recruitment scheme as fake and shared that he would personally issue a formal statement when his Ministry and the Ghana Armed Forces advertise for recruitment and enlistment.
He wrote: “Ladies and gentlemen, this is fake! We’ll issue a formal statement when we advertise for recruitment and enlistment. Just stay tuned! Recruitment and enlistment of 12,000 people into the Ghana Armed Forces over the next 3.5 years starting VERY SOON.”
