“I Will Still Criticize This Gov’t If They Don’t Perform” – Professor Gyampo

Ghana Shippers Authority (GSA) Acting CEO Prof. Ransford Gyampo has stated that his appointment by the President does not absolve him of criticizing the administration when necessary.
Many people believe that Prof. Gyampo will quiet his criticism of the government, which was evident during the former Akufo-Addo administration, when he was appointed CEO of GSA.
But in an interview on Sunday, February 2, 2025, on TV3’s Hot Issues, Prof. Gyampo promised that his appointment would not prevent him from holding the administration responsible.
Professor Gyampo, I may have been made that way because I can’t keep silent. I can’t remain silent since I’m told that I talk even while I’m asleep. If it is correct, we will discuss it; if it is incorrect, we will discuss it.
“In the event that I have to come out in public, you may find me on KeyPoints. You will hear from me; I haven’t given up on KeyPoints,” he said.
The University of Ghana’s political science lecturer clarified that he would still work with important government figures and political players to solve issues of public interest, but he would only speak up if all other options had been exhausted.
“If I have access to the president, my minister, and the individuals who can do X, Y, and Z to improve the life of Ghanaians, then it makes sense to call their attention to the problems and say, ‘This is not good; therefore, it’s better to fix them.
“I’m telling Ghanaians that I can’t remain silent. Prof. Gyampo stated, “If it’s right, we’ll talk about it; if it’s wrong, we’ll criticize it, and if it becomes necessary, you’ll hear me do so in public.”
