Following violent altercations during their Ghana Premier League Matchday 19 matchup against Nsoatreman FC, Asante Kotoko reported yesterday that one of their supporters had been fatally stabbed.
The fan died at Sunyani Hospital after suffering severe injuries amid the turmoil, the club said in an official statement.
This news broke the internet, with a lot of football fans sharing their thoughts on how bad the league, which is supposed to be the ultimate in the country, has become, and we all know this conversation will not end if some prominent sports presenters don’t add their voice.
Adding his voice, Ghanaian sports presenter Saddick Adams has urged Asante Kotoko to use their influence to boycott the league unless it’s fixed and things get in shape.
Speaking his mind on X, formerly Twitter, the sports presenter wrote:
Asante Kotoko as a BIG club as they are, have reduced themselves into being remote controlled by the GFA leaders. They must use this event to show how mighty they are by boycotting the stinking thing they call league until the entire system is cleansed and safe measures installed
