Removing E-Levy And Re-Introducing Road Tolls Is Same Thing – Afenyo Markin

Alexander Afenyo Markin, the Minority Leader in Parliament, has stated that if the Mahama government eliminates the e-levy but implements a road toll, the burden on Ghanaians will not be lessened.
According to Afenyo-Markin, if the e-levy is eliminated but toll collection is reinstated, the value remains the same.
If the Mahama administration is serious about reducing the cost on Ghana, he advised Kwame Agbodza, the Minister of Roads and Highways, not to reinstate road tolls.
He shares the opinion that Ghanaians will suffer much more if road tolls are reinstated.
The Effutu Member of Parliament stated, “On this issue of road toll, they say they are going to do digitalization,” during the discussion on ministerial nominations in Parliament on Tuesday, January 21. Since they had promised to reduce taxes and levies, we believed that they would ease the burden on Ghanaians. However, now you are going to impose yet another fee.
In order to ensure that the value remains the same, they will search for the money on road tolls when the e-levy is removed. They assert that they will overturn the e-levy law, impose a road toll, and raise the price even further. You assert that you are dedicated to easing the load that the average Ghanaian bears.
