7 Struggles Of Being A Man In Ghana.

This is not to undermine the injustices our women face in our part of the world.
All we are trying to say is that Ghanaian men dey suffer too, but you never hear that side of the story. Being a woman out here is extremely hard, but it isn’t all that sweet and honey for a man either.
Here are 7 struggles we have identified about the Ghanaian man.
1. He should be able to fix anything.
He should know how to fix the TV, flat tire, car, furniture, whereas the women chill waa.

2. It’s OK for an earning man to marry a non-earning woman.
It’s a big no-no if the tables are turned around.

3. Parental pressure isn’t just confined to women when it comes to marriage.

4. He is not allowed to have emotions.
This isn’t exclusive to Ghanaians, but how many times do we hear ‘Oh barima nsu!

5. He is expected to have the upper hand in a relationship or marriage.
He has to pay the bills, take all the major decisions. If you leave any of that for the woman, you become an ‘obaa barima’ (a man-woman).

6. He cannot speak up about rape.
Seriously, when was the last time you heard a Ghanaian man being raped?

7. And domestic abuse.
Society says you are less of a man if you are abused by a woman. So you better zip it!
