Shatta Wale (@shattawalegh) has cleared the air on his popular song, “Mahama Paper”, which most people believe is a campaign song for the New Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking with the BBC’s Akwasi Sarpong, the controversial artiste revealed that his “Mahama Paper” song was not released as a praise to the incumbent President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama.

The dancehall hitmaker, in explaining the rationale behind the music, stated that he was watching television when President Mahama’s missing speech saga occurred.

John Mahama, in his position as the past chairman of the ECOWAS, shocked the gathering of West African government heads when he announced that some pages were missing from his speech.
“Where is my speech…I am missing certain pages in my speech…,” he said.
The “Kakai” hitmaker noted he didn’t do the song out of any political reason though he was inspired the Mahama’s missing speech saga.
“I didn’t do that song for a political purpose, I wrote it out of love. I didn’t do it because of my President. One day I was watching TV and the president was speaking at the Conference Center and he was like ‘where is my page 13, I can’t find it,’ and I was like Mahama too why, where is his speech.”
