Tim Westwood Accused Of S3xual Abuse By Multiple Women From 1992 To 2017
Tim Westwood has been accused by seven women of engaging in inappropriate s3xual behavior.
According to the Guardian, the women say that Tim exploited his position as a well-known DJ in the music business to exploit them.
Three of the seven women have accused the DJ of “opportunistic and predatory” sexual behavior, according to the Guardian.
The other four claim that the DJ grabbed them at events.
The Guardian and the BBC conducted a combined investigation into the DJ, which resulted in these disclosures.
Tim has been accused of wrongdoing since 1992, with the most recent accusation being made in 2017.
One of the ladies said, “Someone taking advantage of my ignorance and lack of confidence isn't something I should have to carry with me with shame.”
All seven of the ladies interviewed by the BBC are black.
The women share their tales in Tim Westwood: Abuse of Power, a BBC Three documentary that airs at 21:00 on Tuesday.
Two of the ladies said they agreed to meet the DJ in London to talk about music because they wanted to start a career in the business. They accuse the DJ of driving them to a flat and forcing them to engage in unwanted and unplanned s3x. At the time, one was 19 and the other was 53.
Another lady, who was in an R & B group at the time, said she met Tim when she was 17 and he was in his mid-30s. She claims that after consenting to see him, the DJ forced her to have unwanted oral sex.
The ladies who accused him of groping alleged he grabbed their bottoms or breasts while posing for photos with him on several occasions where he performed.
To protect the women's identity, the BBC and the Guardian altered their names. According to reports in the media, the women are strangers. According to the BBC and the Guardian, several of them still work in the music industry and are afraid of repercussions.
For a long time, allegations regarding Westwood's behavior with young black women have been circulating on social media. In a statement to the Mail Online in 2020, Westwood slammed the “fabricated charges,” saying they were baseless and without merit.
Following these investigations, there have been extensive allegations leveled against the DJ, which he refutes.
