's death was confirmed in a statement released via her official and verified Instagram account. “We are devastated to share the news that Cal Wilson, the much-loved stand up comedian, writer and actor died today, surrounded by family and friends in hospital after a short illness. Cal was loved by her family, friends, fans and peers and a huge hole has been torn in the heart of our community” She died at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown, Sydney following a brief illness, on Wednesday, 11 October 2023.

Cal Wilson Biography and Career.

Cal Wilson was born in Christchurch, New Zealand. She lived from October 5, 1970 to 11 October 2023. Cal Wilson garnered herself a great reputation in the entertainment industry, dubbed for her remarkable performances as a stand-up comedian and hosted numerous radio and TV shows.

Cal Wilson,  co-founded the Court Jesters improv group in 1990 and was part of the New Zealand team that won the World Theatresports title in Los Angeles in 1994. She moved to stand-up comedy full-time in 1997 and won the Billy T award with Ewen Gilmour. Wilson appeared on various Australian comedy shows, including SkitHOUSE, Rove Live, Good News Week, Spicks and Specks, The Project, Celebrity Name Game, Show Me the Movie!, and Hughesy, We Have a Problem. She also wrote the screenplay for the New Zealand sitcom Willy Nilly in 2002.

In 2007, she was part of the ensemble cast of the Australian sketch comedy TV show The Wedge. In 2008, she appeared in the eighth series of the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars. In 2010, she became host of the program Sleuth 101 and participated in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Great Debate.

In 2019, she recorded a Netflix Original Comedy Special titled Comedians of the World representing New Zealand. In 2019, she toured a stand-up show, Gifted Underachiever. In 2022, she participated in the eighth season of the Australian version of I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! and was revealed to host the seventh season of The Great Australian Bake Off.
