She also wrote the screenplay for the New Zealand sitcom Willy Nilly and appeared in the eighth series of the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars. She also co-hosted the drive-time radio show The Akmal Show with Cal Wilson in 2007 and Mornings on Nova 100 in 2009.

On Wednesday, October 11, 2023, Cal Wilson passed away in the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Camperdown, Sydney, after a brief illness. 53 years old.
