Cal Wilson, a New Zealander-based Australian comedian, author, radio and television presenter passed away at the age of 53. Born on 5 October 1970 in Camperdown, New South Wales, she received her education in Christchurch and completed a Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Canterbury. She was married to Chris Woods, who they had a son Digby, and they were together until Wilson's death.

After her career, Wilson co-founded the Court Jesters improv group in 1990 and won the World Theatresports title in Los Angeles in 1994. She transitioned to stand-up comedy and won the Billy Td in 1997. She appeared on various Australian comedy shows, wrote the screenplay for the New Zealand sitcom Willy Nilly, and appeared in the eighth series of the Australian version of Dancing with the Stars. Cal Wilson's parents are Murry Gauge Wilson and Audree Wilson.She also co-hosted the drive-time radio show The Akmal Show with Cal Wilson in 2007 and Mornings on Nova 100 in 2009.
