According to a recent interview, Ghanaian rapper Koo Ntakra disclosed that the other six rappers were not compensated for the song. However, he concluded that the value of the mileage he received from the song surpassed any financial gain Sarkodie could have provided.

The rapper expressed his gratitude for the chance Sarkodie offered him in an interview with DLFM 106.

7. The song has done more for him than any sum of money Sarkodie could have paid, he said, even without receiving any payment. 

“Trumpet was not paid for by Sarkodie, but the opportunity the song provided me with far outweighs any amount he could have given.” Seven years have passed since the song’s debut, yet whenever I travel to perform in Ghana, they won’t allow me to get off the stage if I don’t play that song.

I thus don’t think it would have an impact on me even if Sarkodie offered me 20 billion cedis as payment, based on the value I have derived from the song,”
he said.
