Desmond Kwesi Blackmore, better known as , the Ghanaian hip-hop and Afrobeat musician, has highlighted why Nigerian musicians are succeeding abroad in contrast to their Ghanaian counterparts.

Most Ghanaian musicians, according to the ‘Enjoyment Minister,' do not invest in their music and lack the economic savvy to handle it as such. He believes that Ghanaian musicians would rely on social media trends to make their songs popular online.

said in an interview on Adom TV's weekend show, Ahosepe Xtra with Sister Sandy, that practically every Nigerian musician treats his or her music brand as a commercial endeavor, and that they invest time and resources to have their songs popular on social media.

He said that most Nigerian musicians pay YouTube $500 for ad placement or hire a public relations firm to properly market their songs on social media platforms, and this is one of the key reasons why their artists consistently shatter global limits with their skills.
