Concerned about what he calls widespread hypocrisy in the Christian community, gospel musician Broda Sammy has said that the church is losing attractiveness because of its strict customs.
Speaking on Akoto Mansa’s Asetena Pa show, the vocal artist demanded that Christianity change in order to draw in more listeners.

“To make it more appealing, we need to add some dynamism and modernity,” Broda Sammy said.
Some Christians blame women for wearing pants, but when they travel overseas, they also adopt other cultural customs, which he blasted as being inconsistent.
They will preach against pants when they are in Ghana, but when they travel outside, they don anything and compromise the Christian values they profess to support. “This is blatant hypocrisy,” he said.
Broda Sammy also bemoaned the differences in the gospel industry, emphasizing how hypocrisy and preconceptions keep gospel musicians from standing together.
“There is no unity in the gospel industry. We let discord rule our actions rather than standing by one another,” he remarked.
He made it clear that he would not start any projects but would be open to working with other gospel musicians Kofi Owusu Peprah and Diana Hamilton if they approached him about potential collaborations.
