I was losing my own people – Camidoh reveals how fame nearly cost him his peace

Ghanaian singer Camidoh has opened up about a challenging period in his personal life and music career during an interview with Kafui Dey.
According to the “Sugarcane” hitmaker, the pressure to succeed in music nearly affected his peace of mind and relationships with people around him.
“I used to be too focused,” he said. “When you put yourself too much into something, the turbulence will shake you. Anxiety and all of that.”
Camidoh explained that he became overly consumed by work and constantly pushed himself to achieve more, which eventually affected his emotional well being.
The singer revealed that things began to change around late 2025 and early 2026 after he started taking life more calmly and reflecting on his journey.
“I realized that everything I wanted in 2024, it was almost like God intentionally delayed it,” he shared.
Camidoh compared the experience to taking toys away from children so they can focus on more meaningful things in life.
According to him, stepping away from the spotlight for some time helped him reconnect with family and rediscover peace.
“It’s okay to be a family man and still have a career,” he stated.
The singer also admitted that his intense focus on success at one point made him difficult to deal with, as he struggled to balance work, relationships, and personal happiness.
“You are losing your own people in the name of achieving your goals. That makes you very selfish,” he said.
Camidoh added that he has now learned to slow down and value the people around him more.
“We have time. We are not running anywhere,” he noted.
