“I Was Told I Can’t Concieve The Natural Way” – Gifty Anti Recounts Ordeal To Motherhood

Gifty Anti, the Ghanaian feminist and media personality, bravely recounted her very personal story of having trouble becoming pregnant.
She had a lot of trouble becoming pregnant before being married, which made her want to have children, which she loved deeply, even more.
With an unyielding desire to have a child, Gifty Anti, 41, investigated some options, including artificial insemination, IVF, and surrogacy, in her quest to become a parent.
Gifty Anti spoke up about her difficult experiences in an illuminating interview with Edem Knight-Tay on Forty Weeks and More on the perceptive website. She talked about the psychological effects of her hardships, the anxieties that consumed her, and the numerous medical procedures she had to undergo.
She described how physicians first told her she was infertile, which made her feel hopeless and that she would never have children. After four unsuccessful IVF efforts, she was confronted with the difficult task of giving up hope.
Gifty Anti’s narrative took a remarkable turn in spite of these hurdles.
At the age of 47, she gave birth to her long-awaited miracle child, Nyame Anionyam. Her story exemplifies faith, resiliency, and the conviction that dreams may come true despite all the challenges.
She said:
“I was in a stable relationship, and I wanted to have a child. I tried and tried, but I wasn’t conceiving. At some point, the doctors said I had a problem with my tubes, so they had to flush my tubes. It was one of the most painful procedures I had to go through.”
“They later said that one of my fallopian tubes was condemned. So I had to work with one, but still, it wasn’t happening. And according to the doctors, it was impossible to have a child the natural way, so IVF was my only way. I tried IVF four times.”
“From Ghana to London. I remember when she was removed from my womb and placed on my chest; I didn’t want to let her go. The nurses said they had to go and clean her, but I didn’t want to let her go.”
