Weeks after his arrival and customary immersion into Ghanaian culture, well-known YouTuber IShowSpeed gained notoriety when Ghana was added as a new nationality on his Wikipedia entry.
Following his recent trip to Ghana, American livestreamer and YouTuber IShowSpeed added Ghana as an additional nationality to his Wikipedia article, which caused a lot of excitement online.
As part of his broader African tour, the 21-year-old content creator, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., visited Ghana on January 26, 2026. As a sign of his cordial welcome and cultural assimilation, he was ceremoniously given the Ghanaian name Berima Kofi Akuffo during the trip.
His Wikipedia site has received a lot of attention because it now mentions Ghana in addition to his American citizenship. It’s still unknown if IShowSpeed made the modification or if one of his many online admirers altered it.
The well-known streamer frequently conveyed his appreciation for Ghana’s hospitality, culture, and way of life during his visit. He even alluded to intentions to buy real estate in the nation, which increased popular excitement. The update, according to many supporters, is a reflection of the profound impact Ghana had on him, especially while he was living in the Eastern Region and Greater Accra.
