In a startling event on January 28, 2025, students from Accra High School and Kinbu Senior High School became embroiled in a violent confrontation in the Greater Accra region.
This altercation which was captured on video rapidly circulated across various social media platforms.
The footage reveals Accra High students pursuing their Kinbu peers, brandishing clubs and makeshift weapons, as bystanders can be heard shouting in the background.
The origin of the conflict remains ambiguous; however, reports suggest that it was ignited when an Accra High student allegedly assaulted a Kinbu student, leading to an immediate retaliation.
The situation escalated when Kinbu students, armed with clubs, advanced toward Accra High along Akooshi Street in Asylum Down.
Yet, they promptly retreated upon noticing a police patrol at the roundabout in Asylum Down.
This violent episode has raised significant concerns about the rising incidence of violence in Ghanaian schools and the troubling decline in student discipline.
