Sammy Gyamfi Summoned By Chief Of Staff Over Clash With Agradaa

Following the release of a widely shared video that purportedly showed him giving an undisclosed amount of money, presumably in US dollars, to evangelist and former fetish priestess Patricia Oduro Koranteng, also known as Nana Agradaa, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah has called in Acting Chief Executive Officer Sammy Gyamfi of the Ghana Gold Board.
Sammy Gyamfi has been invited to go before the Chief of Staff to explain the circumstances behind the transaction, which has drawn a lot of public criticism and prompted questions about the moral behavior of public officials, according to sources at Jubilee House.
The video, which has been extensively shared on social media, shows Gyamfi in what seems to be a private meeting with Nana Agradaa.
Although the reason and specifics of the cash handover are yet unknown, the public’s outrage and suspicion have been sparked by the spectacle of a high-ranking public official providing funds to a divisive religious figure.
The film has drawn criticism for perhaps compromising President John Dramani Mahama’s newly announced Code of Conduct for Public Officials, which strongly emphasizes honesty, responsibility, and openness in public service.
The rule was implemented as a component of larger initiatives to combat corruption and rebuild public confidence in government agencies.
On Sunday, May 11, Sammy Gyamfi expressed regret for the event and clarified that it was a private gesture of compassion that regrettably ended up in the public eye.
However, sources indicate that the chief of staff is urgently treating the matter, given the political sensitivity and reputational risks involved.
