Popular Ghanaian dancehall musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah better known as , has advised musicians to see music as a serious vocation that necessitates investment in education and the craft.

“I would want to urge Ghanaian musicians to pay more attention to the economic aspect of their craft,” remarked.

“One of the things I've been advocating for years is for artists to view their skill as a job and a commercial entity. Let's figure out how to generate money with our skills,” he continued.

Recently, there has been speculation of numerous musicians not receiving their royalties, as well as others losing large quantities of money due to a lack of awareness about digital streaming and other aspects of music marketing.

According to Shatta Wale, this necessitates a significant investment of time and study in order to fully comprehend how the market has grown. He went on to say that investing in their profession would go a long way toward ensuring that musicians could make money even after they stopped performing.
