“I Shot To Fame During Ghana’s Lockdown” – Ghanaian Tik Tok Star, Wesley Kesse
Wesley Kesse, a Tik Tok celebrity from Ghana, has spoken out about how he became famous on the video-focused social networking service during Ghana’s COVID-19 shutdown.
Wesley, a Ghana Institute of Journalism Public Relations graduate, has become a Tik Tok favorite because to his humorous skits.
In an ‘Aggressive Interview’ with actor Kwaku Manu, he stated that the favorable response he receives from his audience motivates him to do more.
“In 2016, I was using Tik Tok, which was then known as Musical.ly. That was the same thing we did on that platform; the only difference was the name. I couldn’t find my feet in 2016, and my video’s views were so low that I had to leave. Then, during the 2020 blackout, I noticed that Tik Tok had become popular. I had to reinstall the software since I had accidentally erased it.”
“My first viral video showed me imitating Delay,” he continued. I noticed that trend on people’s statuses, and Delay put it as well, and that’s how it all started.”
Most people in Ghana believe he is from Nigeria, West Africa, according to a content producer who works as an influencer for marketers.
“I did another sketch about Funke Akindele, a Nigerian actress…
People believed I was Nigerian for the first three months, but I am Ghanaian,” he says.
