Inaki Williams Finally Agrees To play For The Black Stars Of Ghana

Athletic Bilbao's has sparked speculation that he would play for Ghana at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

According to various sources, the veteran and his younger brother, Nico Williams, will transfer allegiances to represent Ghana in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in November and December.

The prolific striker liked a post on the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw from Ghana's senior national team's official Twitter account.

was approached by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) about switching countries to represent the four-time Africa Cup of Nations champions, but he refused because he considered it insulting to Ghanaians.

The duo has long been a goal for the four-time Africa Cup of Nations champions, having been born in Spain to Ghanaian parents.

The country's football regulating authority has been attempting to attract Inaki Williams to play for the Black Stars since the presidency of previous President Kwesi Nyantakyi.

When Ghana qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the 27-year-old center-forward declared his decision to play with his younger brother, Nico Williams.

The 27-year-old attacker has 74 goals and 44 assists in 331 games for Athletic Bilbao.

He is eligible to play for Ghana at the senior level despite playing 30 minutes for Spain against Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2016.
