One such time was when she was a senior at Aggrey Memorial Senior High School and was trying to adjust to boarding school.

In one incident, Yvonne described how her headmaster gave her a firm smack simply because of the way she looked.

The actress gave a vivid account of what happened, recalling how it was against the rules during her time at school for kids to wear their hair in a bushy style and that defying that order was what led to the smack.

It was somewhat of a tradition for students in that group, according to Yvonne, who was a final-year student at the time, to keep their hair in good condition so they can perm or braid it later on.

After finishing all of her WASSCE papers on her last day of school, Yvonne, who joined the bandwagon, admitted that she did not find it simple to speak with her headmaster’s face to face.

Yvonne Nelson said that her worst Aggrey Memorial memory was the events that took place between her and the headmaster.

“When it was time to leave, the headmaster gave me my worst memory of Aggrey Memorial. The day before my departure from school, he slapped me in a way I would never forget. My offense was that my hair was bushy. We were not allowed to wear our natural hair beyond a certain length. However, the final year girls couldn’t wait to have our hair permed or extended, so, in the final term, we preserved it. That was the offense which attracted my worst nightmare in the school,” she stated.
