Disney Releases New Version Of ‘Cinderella’ With Huge Change
Disney has been busily updating and reissuing a wide range of iconic films from their library. Of course, this also refers to their recent live-action remakes, like the upcoming film Snow White. Disney is now offering fans a brand-new adaptation of Cinderella, though.
Fans will be relieved to learn that this isn't a fresh retelling of the well-known tale. Instead, the original 1950 animated picture has been carefully restored in 4K by the Walt Disney Studios Restoration and Preservation Team. Fans can now enjoy the film with greater visual clarity than before.
Below, courtesy of Twitter, is an illustration of this latest restoration:
The 4K restoration of Cinderella will start streaming on #DisneyPlus on August 25.

The Disney streaming service now offers access to this version. It's encouraging to see that Disney still values its classic animated films, especially enough to have them professionally restored and reissued. especially now that there are so many admirers who appear to be split over the fresh live-action iterations.
Oddly, the aforementioned tweet also mentions that the Walt Disney Studios Restoration and Preservation Team is “currently working on a restoration of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.” Therefore, it appears that fans who are dissatisfied with the planned live-action adaptation will at least be able to watch the original movie in proper 4K resolution.
Keep checking ScreenGeek for any new Disney information as it becomes available. For the time being, Cinderella fans can purchase the freshly restored 4K version on 4K UHD or view the movie through Disney Plus. Let's hoping they maintain this trend and continue to provide fans with fantastic restorations of their previous masterpieces. Particularly considering that Disney now has more titles than ever thanks to some of their acquisitions, which include the complete Fox collection. There are undoubtedly many options available.
