As most of us think that former Black Star’s captain, the legendary Asamoah Gyan, was from a home where he had everything at his disposal, the former striker has revealed otherwise.

According to Gyan, who was speaking in an interview with Berla Mundi, even though he looks like someone who has been rich from childhood, his childhood was very rough, not coming from a rich home, but his parents did everything to make the lives of him and his siblings more comfortable and easier by providing what children needed.

Speaking with Berla Mundi in an interview, Gyan revealed he started playing football like a normal Ghanaian kid on the streets at 10 around the Kaneshie area where he was born and bred; however, a man saw his potential at that early age and started to form a community team around him, and thats where it all started.

Moving on, when asked when he realized he was going to play for the Black Stars team, Asamoah Gyan revealed that at age 13, he had prophesied in his life that he’d play for the senior national soccer team, and it came to pass.
