Meet The Son, Future Of African Hip Hop
African rap artists are known for their unique style and lyrical skills but none is as legendary as the rapper known as The Son, a skillful and intelligent rapper formerly known as Son Of 2Pac.
True to his name, his unique and amazing style of rapping is reminiscent of the legend Tupac Shakur, a rapper whom he had no prior knowledge of until he did some thorough research on his style of music in the late 90s and the year 2000.
The Son, whose real name is Francis Ringel, is a native of Tadzewu in the Volta Region of Ghana, West Africa. Though born and raised in Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region, a graduate of Don Bosco Technical Training Institute, Tema-Ashaiman discovered his musical talent in 1995 as a rapper, singer and a songwriter and went on to study music abroad. He holds a certificate from the Audio Institute of America as a music producer.
He has written, recorded and produced numerous back to back hit songs such as “The Chosen One”, “Shawty Want Me”, “God Brought Me Life” and has featured and collaborated with top charting artists notably Gallaxy Gh and is also responsible for the hit singles of up and coming artists such as High Flamz, Kojo Nitro, Primo among others. He is the founder of Woven Universe Records and a member of the ground-breaking music group The Superiors.
Undoubtedly, the founder of GH Hip Hop, The Son is definitely the heavy weight champion when it comes to African Hip Hop.
