Burna Boy was my small boy – Captan makes shocking claim

Former Militant member Captan has opened up about his early experiences in Ghana’s music scene, sharing memories involving Shatta Wale and Nigerian superstar Burna Boy.
Speaking on Afropodstudio, Captan claimed he witnessed some of the early studio sessions between Shatta Wale and Burna Boy before both artistes reached major international success.
“I was in the studio when Burna Boy and Shatta Wale were recording,” he said.
Captan also reflected on the struggles and street life they experienced during those years, explaining that they often moved around with artistes through clubs and difficult situations.
“We’d take them to the club… police would catch us and we’d go to jail,” he recalled.
The former Militant member went on to make a bold statement about Burna Boy’s status within their circle at the time, suggesting he knew the Nigerian star long before global fame.
“At that time, Burna Boy was my small boy,” he stated.
His comments have sparked reactions online, especially among fans of both Shatta Wale and Burna Boy, as many discuss the early connections between Ghanaian and Nigerian artistes before their rise to international recognition.
He credited Shatta Wale for supporting them through difficult moments, especially when issues with law enforcement and logistics came up, saying Shatta often stepped in to settle problems.
