“I Cried After My First Performance At KNUST” – Gyakie

According to Ghanaian singer Gyakie, one of the most trying times in her career was when her very first stage performance ended in tears.
Speaking about her early days in a recent interview, she stated she was overwhelmed and moved by her first performance at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology’s (KNUST) Republic Hall SRC Week.
She said the stage’s technological difficulties made the mood uneasy.

I recall the speakers going off as I went to perform at the Republic Hall SRC Week. While some of the supporters were hooting, others attempted to encourage me since I was unsure of what to do.
Despite staying on stage until the end of her set, the experience took a toll on her confidence.
“When I got backstage, I cried because I regretted going there,” she said.
