According to veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo, often known as RMD, he dislikes being referred to as a legend.
In an interview on YouTube titled “Curiosity Made Me Ask,” which was presented by Nigerian comedian Bea U, the renowned movie actor said this.
RMD says he does not accept the term “legend” because he believes it to be a fraud, emphasizing that it implies he is beyond his best and on the verge of retirement.
The actor stated that he does not yet consider himself to be a “legend” and that performers such as Olu Jacobs and Pete Edochie truly deserve the term.
He said, “I think all those legend things are a scam.
I have my legends, like Uncle Olu Jacobs and Uncle Peter; those are our ancestors, our legends.
“I was still watching him when he was saying Ribena children are healthy children.
“So I don’t subscribe to that. I think it is a scam when they call me a legend because they are trying to relegate me to that neighborhood of retired people or should be nearing retirement. So, no, I don’t subscribe to it.”
