A CCTV video reportedly shows a man thought to be Richard Jakpa leading a military raid on former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta’s home.
This event took place on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, when armed men in military uniforms broke into Ofori-Atta’s Cantonments residence, with their motives still unclear.
The lack of information about the raid’s purpose has caused widespread concern and speculation. The online video points to Richard Jakpa as a key figure in the operation.
Jakpa, who was previously dismissed from the military, was spotted in a white pick-up truck with three other armed soldiers en route to Mr.
Atta’s home.
Authorities have not officially confirmed Jakpa’s involvement, and they are currently examining the evidence to determine the raid’s motive and whether it was officially sanctioned or carried out unlawfully.
This CCTV footage has emerged amidst Ken Ofori-Atta’s ongoing legal and political challenges.
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has declared him wanted in connection with several corruption cases, including those involving the National Cathedral project, Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML), and other matters.
Prior to the raid, the OSP, under special prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng, denied any involvement in the incident and described it as “staged” during a press briefing on Wednesday.
