“Most People Wanted My Career To End After I Won The Artiste Of The Year” – Kuami Eugene Reveals

After being named Artiste of the Year 2020 at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, singer Kuami Eugene claims that some industry leaders wanted his star to fade (VGMA).

According to him, there has been a belief through the years that performers who win Artiste of the Year seldom make a comeback with the same level of success they had before to the achievement.

Kuami Eugene, speaking on Joy Prime's Fresh Juice programme, said he is aware of such persons but has yet to pay attention to them.

However, the “Open Gate” crooner stated that he is prepared to go above and beyond what he has already accomplished in the Ghanaian music industry.

I think I have actually tried as much of possible to change the narrative. I have loads of people thinking I am going to dip after the Artiste of the Year win but I am still here. I am even doing better than before. Looking at my features and songs I have truly done well, he said.
