“I Am Planning To Take Reggae – Dancehall To The Next Level” – Epixode Reveals

Epixode, the reigning Reggae and Dancehall Artiste of the Year, believes that Ghanaian Reggae and Dancehall will soon take over the globe because to its originality, but that it would require rebranding to be recognized globally.

According to Epixode, we can rebrand the Reggae and Dancehall genres by including our local flavor to make them entirely distinct and sell them globally.

Epixode said he wants to use his recent success to assist other young singers flourish in the Ghanaian Reggae/ Dancehall sector in an interview with GNA Entertainment following his latest milestone at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).

“Reggae and Dancehall will always reign supreme in the music industry, and I believe Ghanaian Reggae will soon follow. Reggae has always been in our blood, as certain Highlife artists did break out into that genre at one point, but we can rebrand it and add our local flavor to make it unique, and I feel the rest of the world will love it.

“My next step following this award is to try and support those artistes in the Reggae and Dancehall sector who need a helping hand and make the genre extremely vibrant,” he added.

Larruso, Ras Kuuku Samini, and Kaphun were among those nominated for the Reggae and Dancehall Artiste of the Year award, and Epixode believes that all those nominated should be commended for their efforts in helping to drive the genre forward.

“There are hundreds of Reggae and Dancehall artists in Ghana, and if you are nominated, you are a winner because you are contributing to the business in a positive way.

“I personally congratulated several of the candidates, and I believe the Dancehall space is so vast for all of us that we must work hard to bring it to the world,” he said.
