Akuapem Poloo’s Prison Sentence Set Aside; Fined Instead

The court has overturned Akuapem Poloo's jail sentence, according to a new report from 3News. On all three offenses, she was penalized with a fine of GHc 12,000.

Remember that in April of this year, Akuapem Poloo was sentenced to 90 days in prison after pleading guilty to a charge of publishing n*de images involving her kid.

According to a report on GraphicOnline.com, the court's Criminal Division presided over by Justice Ruby Aryeetey, affirmed the circuit court's ruling on the grounds that it was not obviously disproportionate.

“This court will not intervene, and hence the appeal is rejected,” Justice Aryee stated.

In the absence of the offender, the court ruled that Akuapem Poloo's kid be delivered to any family member who is capable of caring for him.
