Callum Hudson-Odoi Is Set To Play For The Black Stars At The 2022 World Cup

According to GOAL.com, Callum Hudson-Odoi is considering a move from England to Ghana.

Ghana qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup after defeating Nigeria in two legs on March 29.

Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions haven’t played for over two years, and he’s turned down recent Under-21 call-ups.

Hudson-Odoi is still able to swap nations after gaining three caps for England.

This comes after a FIFA rule change in September 2020, which permitted players with three or fewer caps to move once they reached the age of 21.

Hudson-dual Odoi’s nationality stems from his father, Bismark, a Ghanaian footballer who played for Hearts of Oak.

Hudson-Odoi visited Ghana on vacation twice in the previous two years, in January 2022 and last summer.

When asked if he was considering switching, he said, “We will wait till that moment arrives.”

President Nana Akufo-Addo and the Ghana Football Association are said to have met with Hudson-Odoi.
