My Step Mother Used To Beat Me Because I Revealed I Wanted To Be A Musician – Abiana

Abiana

Award-winning Ghanaian vocalist, Abiana has described how her stepmother detested the fact that she chose to become a musician.

Abiana described how her stepmother occasionally beat her severely as a result of her desire to become a professional musician in an exclusive interview with renowned broadcaster AJ Sarpong on Citi 97.3fm in Accra.

“I clearly recall how my stepmother opposed my desire to pursue a profession in music when I was young.

I used to leap whenever the piano played, and whenever I tried to go to a practice, she would scream that they shouldn’t let me go, and then she would beat me severely because I probably hadn’t done my housework. She spoke aloud.

“She would discipline me, but I would still manage to get out and sing.” I started pursuing my profession in singing straight after high school since I love to sing. “I started the reality programs there, therefore I have never given up,” she continued.
