Lady Cathy Ferguson was born in 1939 in Glasgow, Scotland. She is of white heritage and is Scottish. Due to her relationship with legendary football manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who is well-known for his contributions to football history, Lady Cathy has gained a lot of notoriety.

In 1964, while both were employed by a typewriter manufacturer, Cathy and Alex first met as a result of her love life. Cathy and Alex dated for two years before falling in love and getting married in 1966. The couple who had three children together, the late Cathy Ferguson and Alex Ferguson, were in love.

On Thursday, October 5, 2023, Cathy Ferguson passed away at the age of 84.

Her sad death was confirmed by her family in a statement released on Friday, October 6, 2023. The statement indicated that he died on Thursday, October 5, 2023.

The statement reads; “We are deeply saddened to confirm the passing yesterday [Thursday] of Lady Cathy Ferguson, survived by her husband, three sons, two sisters, 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The family asks for privacy at this time.”

Several clubs paid tribute to Cathy on social media.

Manchester City posted on X: “Everyone at Manchester City sends their condolences to Sir Alex Ferguson and his family at this very difficult time.”

Arsenal offered their “heartfelt condolences”, adding: “May Lady Cathy rest in peace.”

Sir Alex's former club St Mirren said: “Everyone at St Mirren Football Club sends its deepest condolences to Sir Alex Ferguson and family following the sad news of the passing of Lady Cathy Ferguson.”
