Lil Wayne used to credit Jay-Z for motivating him to give up the pad and start composing bars, but now he’s giving another explanation.

Weezy recently acknowledged on FOX Sports’ UNDISPUTED that he is “too old and too tired” to be reading from paper in the booth, which is why he no longer writes down his songs.

“We are grateful for the iPhone. Before, since I never wrote anything down, I would always need to remind myself. For them, it’s always considered an accomplishment,” the 41-year-old clarified to Skip Bayless and Michael Irvin, her co-hosts.

“No, I don’t write because I’m too old and too tired to be trying to read. You know, they got the iPhone now so I go ahead and record the voice memo.”
