Former President, Mahama Donates GHC 100k To Radio Gold To Restart Operations
Ghana's Former President John Mahama has given GHC100,000 to the management of Radio Gold to help them relaunch their activities after the National Communications Authority returned their operating licenses.
On Wednesday, November 5, 2021, the monetary gift was purportedly given to the station's management.
The NCA declared on October 12 that Radio Gold, XYZ, and 131 other radio stations have regained their broadcasting licenses.
The licenses of NDC-affiliated Radio Gold and Radio XYZ were canceled due to their failure to pay operating license fees and license expiration.
The permission is conditional on the applicants completing a workshop to learn about the terms and conditions of FM radio broadcasting licenses.
It said that provisional authorizations would be awarded to successful applicants at the conclusion of the workshop and that frequencies would be assigned to them only if the Provisional Authorization's criteria were met.
