“My Inability To Read And Write Has Never Broken Me Down” – Kwaku Manu

Kwaku Manu, the Ghanaian actor, musician, and presenter, has explained how he overcame his inability to read and write to get to where he is now.

According to him, every one of his siblings can read and write except him, which has not concerned him because it will upset others.

“Although it used to get to me occasionally,” Doctar Cann stated on Happy 98.9 FM's Ayekoo After Drive Show, “I never allowed it to break me or get the best part of me since, I have always regarded myself as a winner and a leader.”

He went on to say that as a result of this, many of his professors despised him and would constantly find a cause to penalize him.

When asked how he manages to read and sign contracts despite his inability to read and write, he explained that he has trustworthy individuals in his life who assist him.

“Funny enough, none of this ever deterred me because growing up, I always saw myself as someone big and I knew I'd be a prominent figure in the future, and even the people I used to hang out with took things I said as prophecy because for some reason, everything I used to say would come to pass,” he explained.

Kwaku Manu went on to say that after some time, he decided to face his father about dropping out of school because it was no longer working for him.

“I couldn't even think about writing about myself.” He revealed, “When we were instructed to write about myself, I ended up copying and writing mine about a girl.”

His father, fortunately for him, agreed and invited him to leave school and join him in his shoemaking company.

Although some may perceive it as a disadvantage, the actor added that he feels it occurred for a purpose and is pleased of how far he has gone.
