I heard my great-grandmother’s voice – Enam recalls strange experience before recording song

Ghanaian singer Enam has opened up about the emotional experience that inspired one of her songs.
Speaking about her musical journey, the award winning artiste revealed that she once struggled to fully understand her sound and creative direction.
According to Enam, a conversation with a colleague pushed her to reflect deeply on her childhood and memories of her late great grandmothers.
She explained that later that night, while sitting alone in her room, she decided to speak out loud and ask for guidance.
“I call upon you this night, if there is any message for me, come and give me the message,” she recalled saying.
The singer claimed that shortly after making the statement, she began hearing sounds in her ears before a song suddenly formed in her mind.
“And then I heard her voice,” Enam said. “I was like, ‘What? Am I going mad?’”
She stressed during the interview that she was completely sober throughout the experience.
“I was not drunk. I was not high. I was nothing,” she explained.
According to the singer, the lyrics kept repeating in her head, forcing her to quickly record the words on her phone before she forgot them.
