Achimota School Board Disagrees With Court Ruling, Says They Can’t Admit The Rastafarian Students
The Achimota Senior High School board of governors has expressed its dissatisfaction with the court’s decision yesterday over the admission of Rastafarian students.
The Accra High Court yesterday ordered Achimota School to allow rasta pupils who had been denied entrance due to their faith and locks unless they cut their locks, which they pledged they would never do.
The school’s board of governors has ordered their attorneys to file an appeal because they refuse to accept the court’s finding that they must embrace the Rastafarians’ faith and religious views in order to admit them.
The admission of Rastafarians to senior high schools has become a national issue, as some people appear to be perplexed as to why they are denied their right to study because of their faith.
