“Please Allow Me To Enjoy My VGMA Award” – Diana Hamilton To Critics

Diana Hamilton, the 2021 VGMA Artiste of the Year and current recipient of the ‘Artiste of the Year' award has pleaded with Ghanaians to enable her to enjoy her award.

According to the “W'asem” singer, the seeming comparison between her and Kidi about who earned the prize does not bother her.

“Kidi is a great and a respectable person, we have met, he congratulated me and I congratulated him, but so far my team and I have not had a joint task planned for Kidi and I, if that notion comes in, I will let the world know,” Foster Aggor said on StarrDrive Tuesday. I believe I should be allowed to bask in the glory of being named artiste of the year.”

“VGMA is about great music, not necessarily gospel music or any genre,” she continued. “The scheme spelled out the requirements for that category, Great music was honored for what it did, and we were there because of great music, not gospel.”

The singer also thanked her crew for helping her promote her music.

She also took home three more awards on the night, including Most Popular Song of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year, and Gospel Song of the Year.

Kidi, Sarkodie, Adina, Kuami Eugene, and Medikal were among the artists nominated for ” Artiste of the Year.”
