“Stephen Appiah’s Leadership Skills Are From God, He Did Not Learn” – Dede Ayew Eulogises
Andre Ayew, Ghana’s captain, has characterized Stephen Appiah as a born leader with God-given leadership abilities.
When he led the Black Stars, the 31-year-old claimed Appiah was a dynamic leader from whom he learned a lot.
“I believe he possessed charm, a love for Ghana, and was a fantastic player on the field. This gave him complete control over everything that was going on in the team,” Ayew told Joy FM.
“When I initially joined the Black Stars, he was the captain, and I spent a lot of time watching him and learning a lot from him because he had that thing [leadership skills] that he didn’t study; it was a gift from God. That’s how he was able to do what he did.”
Many fans and commentators consider Appiah to be one of the finest players to ever captain the Ghana national team.
In 2006, he became the first Black Stars captain to guide the team to World Cup qualifying.
Former captains John Mensah and Asamoah Gyan’s leadership styles were also examined by Ayew, who is presently the captain of the Black Stars.
