Guinea’s President Has Urged The National Team Players To Win The Upcoming AFCON Or Come Back With The Money Invested In Them

Guinea's acting president, Colonel Mamady Doumbouya, has reminded the national team's players that they must win the AFCON or they will have to repay every penny paid to them.

The Syli Nacional will compete in their 13th Nations Cup in Cameroon, with their best ever finish being runner-up in 1976.

Colonel Doumbouya is undaunted by the fact that he has never won the tournament and urges the squad to go all out for the championship.

At the team's send-off meeting, he remarked, “The cup or you refund the money that's been put in you.”

In Cameroon 2021, Guinea will be captained by Liverpool's Naby Keita. Guinea is in Group B, which also includes Senegal, Malawi, and Zimbabwe.
